Blog#3: The Needle Man Cometh
Just a quick note, really....
This week. No surprise. It was my time; I was of the age.
The phone rang, twice - once while I was eating breakfast, once while meditating. Somebody keen to speak to us. A bit unusual, these days. Even "Hello, I've got a nice trustworthy Scottish accent, and I'd like you to buy some insulation from me"; even "Hello, I'm Mr Microsoft from India, and I want to fix the virus in your computer." Even they seem to have pretty much given up for now.
Actually, I knew who it would be. I checked the number in my phone book, and it was confirmed. The phone rang a third time. Ignoring it: something I've learnt.
Remarkably, a letter arrived the very next day. 'We have been trying to contact you without success regarding receiving your COVID-19 Vaccination (note use of capital letters....). Please contact the surgery on ......... to arrange this.'
I wrote a reply pretty immediately. It was polite, since you never know, I may require their 'services' at some point in the future. But I wanted to say two things. Firstly, I declined their offer. Secondly, their letter is extremely misleading. 'Receiving your ..... Vaccination.' 'Contact us..... to arrange this.' The wording of the letter implied a presumption of vaccination. Nowhere did it say that this a personal choice. So the letter is inaccurate - untrue, actually, nefarious.
For me, I couldn't care less. But the purpose of the communication is clearly to get people on board, to inculcate the idea that the vaccine is the norm, it's what you do, end of story. Additionally, the thing is all engineered into a short time span - sign up now, no time to think! This, again, needs to be a deliberate ploy to catch the naive, the indecisive, the undecided.
In a healthier society, you might think you'd be happy to receive a call from the doctor's surgery. Maybe they're phoning up some of their patients to check they're doing OK in this extremely cold weather. But no. They don't give a monkeys about that. Their function regarding general health has become secondary to being local vaccine units. Nothing else matters.
I have not tried, but apparently it has become increasingly difficult to consult, let alone actually see, a GP over the past year. Suspected cancer: let's see, we can fit you in next month. But if you want a needle plunged into your arm, you'll be welcomed with open arms (at a safe distance, presumably, and muzzled). Like all our 'institutions' it is completely broken, with the naive and stupid administering on behalf of the sinister and psychopathic. If there is a 'solution' I feel it involves melting down all these institutions - police, medical, legal, governmental, informational etc - and building up from scratch. Don't hold your breath.....
